The core philosophy of the way I work is to try to help the body acheive its own balance. For any action taken, I feel that the body has to have the resources within to deal with the consequences of that action. If it doesn't have the resources, then we need to support the body with what's necessary to keep it in balance. I see the quality of 'action' as a masculine attribute and 'support', 'nurture' and 'nourishment' as feminine attributes. I feel that mainstream medicine tends to have plenty of masculine attributes and very little feminine.
In healing the Feminine is so important to help us heal. She helps us go within and really connect what is going on with us. The Masculine wants us to pick ourselves up and carry on in the same way, much like a good soldier. And talking of soldiers, John Taylor Gatto an American education expert, says our education system was originally designed to make good soldiers, that's why boys were the first to be put through school in the past. Indoctrination into the patriarchal way of thinking not only makes good soldiers, but good consumers and workers too. What it doesn't do is keep people healthy as we are programmed to work for the system rather than our own and the worlds real needs.

Bringing the Feminine back into our lives is so important for the healing process - finding time for ourselves without feeling guilty or lazy for doing so. Spending time in nature, with music and art, and being close to the people we care about. Taking time to make real connections with the people we meet rather than being either over controlling or withdrawn. Lynne Franks, the visionary business woman has founded SEED Network to help women join together to bring feminine qualities such as connection, nurturing, compassion, sharing, and love back in to our home and work lives. Our health and the world's health go hand in hand.

Building a bridge between the masculine and feminine in medicine could help so many people, I believe. The toxicity of chemotherapy to the heart is an example of how the bridging of the male and female can work in cancer treatment. The chemotherapy drug Adriamycin is extemely toxic to the heart but by adding the anti-oxidant CoQ10 to the chemotherapy regime, not only is the heart protected, but the effectiveness of the drug is also increased. Considering its benefits it is hard to understand why a simple low cost, non toxic nutrient is ignored. I often wonder if drug side effects are partly due to a deficiency of the feminine. It's ironic that the Caduceus (the symbol used by mainstream medicine) includes a wand and serpents to imply the integration of the masculine and feminine!

Compared to the masculine 'fight', the simplicity and ease of the feminine often makes it easy to overlook her value.
