Zinc
Zinc is a vital component of over 100 enzymes in the body, so a deficiency of Zinc will affect the body in many different ways.  Zinc is essential for balanced gene expression and without Zinc immune cells such as Macrophages, Natural Killer Cells, and Antibodies cannot  function correctly. Zinc is a natural antagonist of Copper, a mineral that encourages angiogenesis through its activation of VEGF - a tumour needs VEGF to grow. The Tumour Suppressor Protein P53 depends on Zinc to help stabilize our DNA - in cancer around half all cancers have a mutation or inactivation of P53. Zinc should not be taken to excess as Zinc can be used by proteins that allow a tumour to Metastasize.
